I got up at 5:00 A.M. on October 7th, 2005 because I was scheduled to be induced at 7:00 A.M since I was 43 week and 5 pregnant from my first due date and 41 weeks and 1 day by second due date. I got a phone call at at 6:15 A.M it was the hospital calling to say I would have to be induced at 3:00 P.M because every room on the maternity ward was full just my luck. Well I went to hospital and at 3:00 P.M it was still full finally got in a room at 11:30 P.M found out I was 2 cm dilated. Around midnight they started me on Pitocin and they a balloon like thing on cervix which get me dilated to 4 cm. When I was 4cm they broke my water. Then around 5 A.M the doctor came in checked me and I was 7 cm and she asked my mom if she wanted to get a epidural which was up to my mom since I was 16 didn't really take the pain away but the pain wasn't as bad as I though it would be. Then at about 6:30 A.M. the doctor checked me again and said I was 10 cm and fully effaced but the doctor was getting ready to leave so they had me wait 15 minutes so they could switch doctors. So after that I started pushing and pushed for a long time didn't really feel that long to me though. At 8:56 A.M Bradan was born he had the cord wrapped around his neck and was a little purple looking at first he scored a 8 on his apgar then a 9. He was 8 pounds 6 oz. and 22 inches. The doctor apoligized for letting me go so far over due. I didn't get to hold Bradan for an hour afterwards but when I did it was the best moment of my life knowing I that something soo wonderful and precious came from me.

  Wow. That seems like a really crappy hospital... making YOU wait to push til they can switch doctors... wow.
